Judy Giles and Family

** NOTE FROM ASHLEY: This message was typed before the untimely passing of Paul Giles. He is greatly missed. I'll be posting a little about his passing in the near future.**

We are trying to get a Jensen Blog up for my Dad's lineage. Since I am the matriarch of the family it is up to me to get this play started. Here goes the first act:

I Margaret Judy Jensen (Brandenburg, Gebheim) Giles was born to the most wonderful and courageous parents that I know, Melvin and Margaret (Ramage) Jensen. This glorious day was May 29, 1941 in Lawrence, Utah. I was born at 7:10 AM in the home that you knew as grandma and grandpa's. I am the oldest of four children; me being the only girl. My brothers are: James Robert, Leon Lafayette and Darrol Fernit.

My parents were great!! Dad was strict and loving; my mom compassionate, loving and kind. They were hard workers. Dad worked in the coal mines and on the farm all his life. Mom worked just as hard. Besides being a mom and taking care of the home; she worked hard in the fields while my dad was at work at the mine. She walked many miles to tend water. She could milk cows with the best of men. Dad and Mom grew large gardens and would supply everyone in town with vegetables. They were happy about their accomplishments. They worked just as hard at their church callings. They were so proud of their children, grand children and great-grand children. Dad would always say thats what kept him young. They both enjoyed spring as that was the time of year new things began to grow; and they loved seeing the baby animals. No one better than they are!! I love and miss them; but I know they are working hard where they are and that we will ALL be able to see and be with them again.

As I said, I am the oldest. I live in Kanab, Utah (a great little town) just my size. People here are so friendly and caring. We have lived here for 7 years. I have three children and Paul has three children. Paul and I were married on June 14, 1996. KendahlLe, Stephanie and Randy are mine; and Kelvin, Todd and Brenda are Paul's. Of course I call them all my children. Between us we have 12 grandchildren; 10 girls and 2 boys; and one georgeous Great-Granddaughter. We are so proud of them and love them very much.

Paul and I spend our time working at the motel and working around our house and yard. We also have our church callings that we love doing. We also live quite close to Stephanie and her family. We love doing things with them.

We have a Rhino that we love to go on. Paul goes more than I do. We love going to the Temple too. It is always a great experience and I love it there!! We worked in the St. George Temple for a year doing sessions every week. That is someting I will cherrish for the rest of my life; also when we went back to New York and all through the history and travel and death of the Prophet Joseph Smith.

Paul and I are going to Alaska on a cruise on Aug. 28th for seven days. We are going with a couple in our ward and some of their other friends. We are pretty excited about it. We have been on one other crusie, and that was with Stephanie and Roger. We went to Mexico. Had a blast with them.

I have lots of fond memories of Dad and Mom; but I will tell you about two or three of them. One I remember when I was quite young was when it was time to do Christmas shopping, mom would take the boys and dad would take me (that was so we could buy each other their gifts). Then we would meet somewhere and mom would take me and dad would take the boys and do other shopping. I enjoyed that so much. Most men don't like to shop; but my dad loved it. He would take mom and I shopping and we would go into woolworths and try clothes on and laugh and laugh. When we tried clothes on, of course we had to model for dad. Another thing I liked doing with my parents was going camping with them. Fishing or hunting or whatever the occasion. I loved going on vacations with them. Dad would sing his songs and mom would sing with us. I loved family reunions when we would all get together. Dad was good looking and mom had the most georgous hair to die for. One of the great things I miss is my moms great cooking and baking. Oh What A Cook!! I had a very good childhood. It was hard and lots of hard work but I grew from it. I could go on and on, but this will get you interested. Right? God Bless All Of Us!!! We love you all.
